Atago also uptiers really well, I don't mind fighting tier 9/10 as much compared to most other tier 8. I've found that running double rudder shift as well as superintendent and SE keeps me in the fight until the end of the match. Now she's probably my favorite cruiser in the entire game. Since then though, I've grown to like Atago more and more every year. I did exactly the same thing over 5 years ago and struggled HARD. To anyone still on the fence about Atago, get her. Are they still good in the gameplay of today (2022)?Īnyway, I just thought I would put it out there. Are there any other older ships that still do well in the game? I am thinking of getting Scharnhorst and Hood, along with Mutsu and maybe Tirpitz. Maybe randoms or ranked is different, but she is a good purchase, especially if you like Japanese cruiser gameplay. What am I trying to say? I am amazed how good Atago still is in the game, considering how long she has been in the game.
Atago still is a great ship! I had a game where I sunk 5 ship and raked in 607,120 credits in a battle! Quite impressive, especially for co-op (though this was with premium time, so your milage may vary) Fast forward a couple years, along with some experience piloting ships in that "other" ship game (cough cough cough cough) and I will tell you what. I had no idea how to play Atago, so I made a fool of myself on the forums. You may recall a forum post titled "Atago buyer's remorse". I had tired her out in the pirate event when I had access to the press account. I was looking for a premium ship to purchase, and I decided to give Atago another shot.
